SKELETON MANIFESTO
- we all have a skeleton inside us and that is the true horror of skeletons, but also.... the true fantasy of skeletons.
- skeletons should not wear armour because if a skeleton wanted to wear armour it would keep its skin
- wizard robes are an exception but ABSOLUTELY no hats or helmets
- if a skeleton has big fat crystals all over it somehow from being in a weird cave that's okay. that is in fact: way good.
- skeletons speak with a HYAAH or with a xylophone noise
- skeletons are held together by necromantic magic
- skeletons can be any shape
- skeletons can throw their own bones at the cost of one bone per thrown bone
- skeletons can throw their entire selves as a kind of boneball
- skeletons can form themselves into a bone wheel
- skeletons can pick up other bones and form a megaskeleton
- floating skulls may be lit by an inner fire but if a skeleton is a fire skeleton its entire skull must be ablaze
- liches are a whole other thing, skeletons absolutely do not need a vessel for their souls and in most cases do not even need a surviving necromancer
- skeletons need skulls for sure though, a skull-less skeleton is a pile of bones
- if a skeleton has long since forgotten why they fight, raised as they were by a long-dead tyrant, defending a long-since worthless treasure, that's good as hell
- if you use skeletons in your work of any kind they should remind your audience:
we are all bags of flesh and bone in the end
trying to fight our inevitable death is fruitless
gaze upon my works ye mighty and despair
