Here's where I could use some help. Premiere doesn't support .mkv files, so if I download one of those I have to convert it first. I've done this once before, using VLC (or was it Avidemux? I forget) to convert it to h.264 mp4.
I've got a different video now where this isn't working. I've tried both of the above programs. Depending on the method I use, it'll either output a video that doesn't play, or one that Premiere sees as audio tracks only, even if I selected to output video before converting.
I'll google for some other solutions, but would appreciate suggestions if anyone has one.
It doesn't have to be h.264. Premiere supports a ton of video formats, but mkv isn't one of them.
