1. hardcore henry: hardcore movie lots of action!!! fuck yeah!!!!!!!!!!! possibly the perfect action movie


2. ultraviolet: the story isnt good but fuck that noise. its complete extreme action and cool toxic symbol buildings and a toxic symbol that fills up with blood it rules, theres even fireswords and vampires


3. storm warriors: very extreme fx and really cool action they try to get as many swords in as possible. mind control 100s of swords at the enemy fuck yeah


4. sucker punch: weird movie but its got some of the best hardcore action and fx and theres dragons and nazi zombies it rules!!!


5. ninja assassin: extreme action and fx but some boring scenes

Hardcore Henry is top 5 action films of all time for me I think. The plot towards the end falls apart but the style and inginuity is amazing

Also if we’re talking Asian action, the the long take hammer sequence from Oldboy deserves mention. It’s all done in one long single take and a lot of it is improvised as a result. Also a lot of dudes got actually injured.

Yah, Oldboy is hardly an action movie. Just a pretty solid dark drama with one really memorable action sequence.

For Korean action I really can’t reccomend The Man From Nowhere enough. A good amount of really bloody action and a pretty solid plot to back it up. It’s almost like a remake of The Professional with Jean Reno, but also not really.
