According to a paper I published some months back, Krust was the most virulent iteration of the image spam meme, where an image is posted over and over rapidly until it stops being funny (run into the ground and fast) and then what becomes funny is how negatively ppl react to the image and it's funny again. The content of the image matters for sure, which is why the Krust lasted longest, but the message of the image isn't "look at this funny image" anymore. The message becomes, "Can you believe that some asshole out there hates this funny image so much that they have to try and destroy it?" It is an inherently anti-elitist message, which is why it rankled FYADs. The image spam meme says, "You can't tell me what I'm allowed to enjoy," and the tiny FYAD clique makes what's left of their bones telling people what is and isn't funny. We disagree. That's why we post here now, on Hoth.
