The frisian plan to divide the world in a west and east frisia has failed but made some real progress

Frisia: approx 2.3 million with 12.07 morale and 131% discipline
Ottomans: approx 1.2 million with 7.56 morale and 115% discipline
East Frisia: approx 400k with 7.95 morale and 112% discipline
Japan: approx 150k with 8.23 morale and 119% discipline

there's something wrong with the way EU4 handles the late game, when I took over Mongolia to observe, it had racked up 15k gold, was pulling in 60 a month and nearly maxed out on tech despite being what should be a desperately poor, low dev state. in the end i filled the place with fortresses and built a 100k army half made of mercs and i was still only just losing money

did they actually have low development tho?
its propably just because mongolia was a tributary all game, with 0 wars to fight it was just developing the few provinces it has
not spending anything and getting rich of its crazy development having constant prosperity from not fighting anyone and having no rebels
in reality if they had zero wars in the ancien regime they wouldve been way better off too

with early russia and denmark I was barely breaking even unless i was at war, I literally had a looting based economy for the first two hundred years lol

but yeah it wasn't super developed, i developed all the provs to 20 so i could put level 8 forts everywhere. they had like a dev 30-ish capital and one or two other moderately ok provs, the rest were like 6 dev

stealing from your enemies to pay off your loans is definitely how the game should be played until you control a good trade node

if youre not dumb enough to go bankrupt unprepared then loans arent a problem

the mongols fucking owned under genghis khan but they really havent developed since and are to this day for a large part nomadic.
actually i just looked it up and they owned pretty hard in the 16th century too, kicking ming chinas shit in
got completely annihilated by qing china in the 17th century tho, which never formed in our game, guess that explains why they were doing so well

i still think EU4 works best for a short period after you start any of its scenarios and quickly comes apart the further you get from the start date. im not sure if paradox has been paying any attention to the scenarios though, probably not knowing them
