no i think any nation is fine, even if someone wants to be ottos or france so long as that person isn't @death or someone equally good at the game

I'm dogshit so I thought an OP nation like Mughals would be useful later on in Europe if thats where you guys were going to be mostly.

the timurids have a tendency to implode early on but if you can ride it out they can be really powerful.

i haven't played them for a while but don't they still start out with a bunch of vassals with high liberty desire and the usual horde succession mechanics? i might give them a shot tomorrow and check because it's probably an interesting game

I have a game going and it's fun!

It's not too hard to ride out the liberty desire as long as the Shah stays alive and Ajjam allies jabronis.

I don't know about horde mechanics, that could be the big change. Timurids have Iqta and there is a liberty desire reduction/+ dip rep tax policy. probably has a lot to do with it being easier than before.

ah looks like china might not accept a huge country as a tributary, so who knows. from what i've seen all the late game problems the timurids get come from expanding ottos and russians anyway
